SGSB: the success of a large-scale project for Delta

Delta Informatique announces the success of its first project in Croatia.

The Delta-Bank implementation project at Splitska Bank (SGSB) in Croatia came to an end in late 2010, following the successful Go-Live which took place 11 October. This major project called BURA (the name of a powerful and violent wind which blows on the Dalmatian coast in the winter) began in 2008. The integration of Delta-Bank at the heart of the bank's IT system made this implementation project a real challenge.
Societe Generale-Splitska Banka d.d. is a Croatia-based commercial bank. Since June 2006, France-based bank Societe Generale S.A. has a major stake in the bank. Bank services are provided at 130 branches with around 1750 employees. SGSB is a strong financial institution holding an 8.5% share of the Croatian banking market.

Delta Informatique has signed with two microfinance institutions

La Régionale in Cameroon and COOPEC IMARA have chosen the Delta-Bank solution.

Microfinance is an activity in full growth, notably on the African continent. Today Delta Informatique would like to address itself to establishments specialised in this activity, which is why we have developed an offer destined specifically for this significant new market.

Created in 1993, the objective of la Régionale d'Epargne et de Crédit is to collect savings and provide loans to people generally excluded from the traditional banking system, with the goal of helping them to improve their living conditions.
La Régionale is organised into two networks: the urban network which counts approximately 30 branches and the rural network which is a collection of 500 village savings banks called 'Caisse de Développement Autogéréé’.
Present for decades in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, COOPEC IMARA is today the principal microfinancing institution in the Nord-Kivo province. Since its creation in 1978, the 'Coopérative d'Epargne et de Crédits' has developed into one of the leading micro-finance institutions in the DRC. With the distribution of micro-loans and the collection of savings, COOPEC IMARA manages to help the population with reconstruction, economic recovery and the struggle against unemployment in Nord-Kivu.

Delta-Bank in production in 149 branches at Attijari Bank Tunisia
Delta Informatique, a major player in strategic banking software, confirms the success of the deployment of Delta-Bank throughout the Tunisian Attijari Bank network.

The Tunisian bank today counts 149 branches and thus remains the largest foreign implantation of the Attijariwafa banking group. Delta Informatique is announcing today the success of this large-scale project which reinforces the partnership created in 2007 with the Moroccan banking group. It represents for Delta Informatique--leader in the North African and French-speaking markets--the second implementation of Delta-Bank in Tunisia.

"The impact of the new system has been major within the bank. We are today processing all operations in real-time. Our branches have maximised their productivity, and they end their days without suffering any delays. The new system has enormously reduced the administrative work of the branches. The system is very powerful and fluid in terms of the organisation and the productivity of the branches" declared M. BERTAL, Managing Director of Attijari Bank Tunisia.

The project began in October 2007, the central site started in December 2008, the pilot branch in June 2009. And in October 2009 we had the Go Live of the last branch in the network, which figures today among the largest banking networks in Tunisia. With this major project, the functional coverage of Delta-Bank has been enriched, notably with the development of a specific module for provisions management for clients in pre-litigation (Tunisian Reserved Accruals & Provisioning), an optimised coverage of SGMT (large amount transfers), as well as the appearance of a Funds Availability/Flash Transfers module.

"This project reinforces our partnership with the Attijariwafa Banking group. For us, the relation of trust is based above all on respecting commitments" declared Claude DELAGE, CEO of Delta Informatique.

"Road Map" for 2010 - 2011, notably within the framework of the latest acquisitions of the subsidiaries Crédit Agricole and BNP Paribas.

Crédit Libanais has chosen Delta-Bank

Delta Informatique, a major player in strategic banking software, has just been selected by CREDIT LIBANAIS for the supply and implementation of a banking software suite in its new Senegalese subsidiary, Crédit International.

Senegal is the first African country where the Lebanese banking group has decided to implant itself. The group then plans to expand into other countries in the UEMOA zone, and very probably in regions in Africa.

Delta has committed itself to the Credit International to offering a “key in hand” solution based on a Banking Model in order to allow the opening of the Senegalese subsidiary before April 2010. This implementation will take place in two phases. The first phase will include the totality of core banking modules (Branch System, Commitments and Trade Finance). The second phase will cover other modules, particularly Multi-Channel and the CRM Portal. It is during this phase that the skills transfer to the CI project team will take place in order for it to take the banking information system in hand.

With this new signing, Delta Informatique has reinforced its position in Africa, and probably in other countries, as the Lebanese banking group seems to be looking to further develop outside of Lebanon.

First Implementation of Delta-Bank in Ghana
Delta Informatique has announced the Go-live of Delta-Bank at SG-SSB, in Ghana.

In the African banking software environment —where Delta Informatique is the leader in the French-speaking zone— this new implantation represents the first installation of Delta-Bank in Ghana.

SG-SSB, a subsidiary of the Société Générale group counting 38 branches, is today the fifth largest bank in the country. It was in 2007 that the decision was taken to replace the existing Indian solution acquired 5 years earlier which had not lived up to expectations.

The project, named ‘Akoben’, began in December 2007 with a framing phase which defined the scope of the project as well as the existing and targeted functional and technical architectures. This phase was followed by the construction and certification phases which saw several rounds of testing in order to finalise the implementation of the future banking software suite as well as the necessary interconnections with the various existing sub-systems.

Implementation in the ‘Big Bang’ mode of Delta-Bank took place at the end of November 2009. Following the success of the latest monthly processing, SG-SSB is now autonomous and able to meet new competitive challenges thanks to the implementation, by its own teams, of new banking products and associated accounting or tariff rules. Moreover, the options—permitting the processing of banking operations and associated products and to generate reports according to IAS/IFRS and Basel II rules—have been activated, so SG-SSB is now able to conform to the requirements of the Central Bank of Ghana.

Banka Popullore, Albania goes live on Delta-Bank in record time

Delta Informatique is pleased to announce the successful cutover of Delta-Bank 9.1 at Banka Popullore (Societe Generale's subsidiary in Albania) in a record time of ten months.

One of the largest and fastest growing bank in Albania, Banka Popullore started its core banking system implementation project with Delta Informatique in January 2009 with an ambitious golive date in the fourth quarter of 2009 considering that Delta-Bank had to be adapted and configured to meet Albanian regulations.

The switchover was performed on the 20th of October 2009, in time and in budget, with the full perimeter of the bank's activities running on Delta-Bank.

"With the rollout of the new core banking system Banka Popullore is taking a giant leap forward in the industrialization of its activities and its integration with Societe Generale group. Our implementation and testing methods proved their efficiency and our staff showed great dedication to this project. Thanks to the work accomplished the bank has now removed the burdens of the previous system and can now focus all its efforts in introducing innovative
financial services to its customers", said Olivier BAUR, project director, Societe Generale.
Altin GJIKA, CIO at Banka Popullore, comments: "In order to play an even more significant role in the competitive albanian market and bear our increasing volume of transactions we were keen to adopt Delta-Bank. The new IT infrastructure of the bank allows us to generate greater efficiencies, better customer service and new revenues."

"Working hand in hand with Banka Popullore's project team, Delta Informatique demonstrates its capacity to enter new markets and replace a whole banking environment by one standardized core banking system with a very tight deadline and demanding requirements of a leading financial institution that Societe Generale is. We are extremely proud of that success, it testifies how Delta-Bank provides banks with a sustainable edge over their competition," said Sylvain PERCHAUD, project manager, Delta Informatique.

Banka Popullore joins a growing list of Central / Eastern Europe banking industry leaders where Delta-Bank has been recently implemented as in Bulgaria, Russia or Serbia. Other projects in this region are soon to be completed (Croatia) or planned for 2010/2011. All projects were completed at the banks' satisfaction, in spite of the complexity and the variety of regulations in this region.

OPT of French Polynesia has selected Delta-Bank
Delta Informatique - a major player in the computer banking system sector - has just been chosen by OPT (The Post and Telecommunications Office) of Polynesia for the supply and implementation of its banking software in order to support its new banking services.

It is thanks to Delta’s experience and its approach towards the management of the implementation project - established during different workshops - that Delta ultimately gained the contract. “Delta Informatique has already carried out an important project for the Bank of Polynesia. Our functional coverage, our expertise and our references in French-speaking countries have made the difference compared to our competitors,” declared Georges Ayoub of Delta Informatique.

Delta also continues its advance in Europe with two new projects - in Croatia and Albania - which come following the launch of Delta-Bank in three large banks in Russia, Bulgaria and Serbia over the last three years.
